The Jammu and Kashmir Government has released the official summer vacation schedule for all Government Degree Colleges in the Union Territory. This includes colleges in both the Kashmir Division and the two zones of the Jammu Division.
As per the order from the Higher Education Department, Government Degree Colleges in the Kashmir Division will have their summer break from 15th July to 24th July 2025. During this time, all classes and college activities will remain closed.
In the Jammu Division, the vacation schedule depends on the zone in which the college is located:
- Summer Zone Colleges in Jammu will observe summer vacations earlier, from 1st June to 15th July 2025.
- Winter Zone Colleges in Jammu will follow the same schedule as the Kashmir Division and will remain closed from 15th July to 24th July 2025.
This division in vacation timings is due to the different climate conditions in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir. The Higher Education Department has issued these dates to ensure smooth functioning of colleges while also allowing students and staff to take a necessary break during the hot summer months. All colleges are expected to follow the schedule strictly.
